That's a pretty bad comparison though. Just because being hit by lightning is unlikely doesn't mean it's not an issue to be worried about - people go through a lot of effort to be safe from lightning. It influences how we build our houses and most people know they shouldn't be out in the open during a thunderstorm or seek shelter under a tree. It's still a government's duty to protect its citiezens from terrorism. I think it's more like people are realizing that right wing nationalists aren't capable of providing that safety, let alone properly run a country.
