Well, assuming Pit is focusing solely on Bass (which I don't really see a reason why he would?), he's fought enemies with various barriers before, so I don't think it's unreasonable to hit him with the single biggest blast he has. There's also the Mirror Shield, which could bounce Bass' attacks back at him. Can Bass pierce his own shield?
