He can Teleport. 3. at 2:50 of this video the slices of his swing slices through a huge cannon. Look at how large that cannon is. That is probably bigger than the entire Steps in question here. At 1:04 of the video you can see them fighting on top of the cannon. 4. Around 1:45 the guy in red attacks with the force able to dent the metal in the cannon below and Sephiroth easily block it without a sweat. This is stronger force than the Lich King ever exerts. 5. 3:03 he again tears through this cannon with his swing.
