what is the actual 'proof' of his russian ties? i am out of the loop.

Right now the proof is regarding Flynn and his lies regarding accepting money for working as an agent for Russia. The fact that he requested an immunity deal implies there is more going on.

Beyond that there are intelligence reports claiming members of the Trump campaign were in contact with Russian intelligence agents throughout the campaign. Meanwhile Trump has had private meetings, including one just this week, with the individual responsible for the hack on the DNC.

Oh my fucking... uggghhhh, this is the most idiotic speculation. First off, the issue with Flynn all along was that he WASN'T telling Trump or Pence information about meetings with Russian officials. The baseline here argues AGAINST collusion, not for it. Second, the FBI already vindicated Flynn's meeting. Third, while you're trying to imply something sinister with the exchange of money, it was a filing problem because he was legally accepting money but didn't register himself. As for the issue of immunity, it's likely an overcautious measure which, judging from everything else, solely has to do with Flynn's activities.

Then you laughably suggest something nefarious in having private meetings with world leaders despite the fact that most meetings with world leaders are largely conducted in private other than some press op nonsense. After all, how many times Obama turn a conversation with a world leader into a Twitch stream?

Comey's firing alone might end up being enough.

I realize it's possible in theory, but do you really think so? It doesn't seem like anyone is treating it like a big deal outside of it simply being discussed.

It's not possible in theory. First, you'd need to establish some actual wrongdoing to get legitimate support. Second, you'd need to sway a large enough group to proceed with the hearings which, in all likelihood, would just get filibustered unless Republicans wanted to toss Trump to the wolves to put Pence into power... but, since any allegations regarding Trump would probably apply to Pence, that would be a stupid plan.
