It's not inherent bias. If you'd like me to look up evidence of Tidus's dodging abilities, Frog's durability, Zelda 2 Link's durability, Tails going faster than 60 mph (which is not really a fair assessment, really the shell goes at about 50 at most when compared to the top speed of the Koopa King - the fastest kart in Double Dash. Trust me I played a LOT of Double Dash), or Kaos's durability and ESPECIALLY his flinch resistance, I am certain that examples could be brought up against you. However, most of the voter base finds these to be unnecessary, as they already have knowledge of at least one of those scenarios which would disprove the idea of 'Bowser shell solos'. It would be your job, then, to disprove that, either through evidence of the shell's actual speed, measuring the knockback that the shell does (which is "it causes you to be knocked down and flip over once" in my estimation and long, storied history of sucking at Double Dash), or finding the character's best feat, comparing it to the shell, and explaining why the shell wins. For instance, I don't take The Shell over Link's instantaneous Shield spell halving his knockback and the damage he takes, which is something I give Zelda 2 Link credit to do in time based on his reflexes demonstrated Vs Dark Link, and that keeps him from taking a lava bath.

Arguments are anything but superficial. I bullshitted an argument where Knuckles and Captain Falcon ran in a circle for hours and killed a giant dragon through chip damage and Terra hiding in a corner casting at every pass, and people bought it even though I'd barely bought it myself. When alternatives were given, I shifted my focus to other aspects which would make things more difficult - Knuckles burrowing, the fact that Terra has a revive spell, coordination to keep Terra alive, the fact that Cut Man was on the other team and he's literally the worst at fighting ever. Looking back at that match, I wouldn't have voted for me, but I convinced people that the shit I was pedaling was reasonable. I think it's fair to say that everyone loves an underdog story - Hell that's why you weren't vote rushed at the very beginning because people wanted to hear what you had to say about Bowser. Arguments are more than possible, but if it looks 'obvious', you have to give the people something they don't expect. For instance, are there any interesting terrain features Bowser could use exclusive to the Superstar Saga castle? If he gets a free cast of Terrorize or Bowser Crush when they rush in, does that help matters? Would Bowser think to do that without help?

Arguments are never useless. But they have to be different from expectation or give information that isn't already known or is requested in order to HAVE use.
