The government doesn't specifically target groups to oppress. So that is true, but you can argue we are oppressed in certain ways depending...I wouldn't say anyone is really an oppressed person in the us, for the most part. Poverty isn't oppression btw and being jailed is, but there are some other factors involved and many people should be oppressed for certain crimes. Actually I would say non violent offenders are a specifically oppressed group.
