2 was good, but it was way too easy. I made it through the hardest setting only dying a couple of times and not even using the bullet time ability. Not only that, but the plot, writing, and characters were considerably weaker. Max's narration didn't have that noir grit that the first one had, where he would describe things with colorful similes like "the snow came down like confetti on the devil's parade." The chemistry between Max and Mona was also pretty much non existent in the sequel. In the first game it was fun seeing their interactions because of the interesting combination of Max's dry deadpan humor with Mona's playful sass. In MP2 they just both seemed to be brooding and miserable. There wasn't any fun banter or a coy rivalry between frenemies, it was just a generic forced romance.
