Finally Mead spoke. “You seem like a worthy opponent, but you wouldn’t stand a chance against me without a weapon. Go on and pull yourself together and face me when you’re ready.” Smoke continued to stare into Mead’s face. After several minutes he finally broke his gaze and tossed the spear tip to the side. Blood rushed from his hand. He held it up and licked the blood and smiled at Mead. He gave him an acknowledging nod and bent down to pick up his pack. “No,” Mead said as he smacked his hand away with the blunt end of his spear. “That’s mine now. You’ll need to find your own way.” Smoke looked at Mead and laughed. He kicked the pack away and began to walk off into the darkness of the jungle. Mead shook his head as he walked away, “perhaps it would have been better to just take him out in his weakened state,” he thought. “There’s no telling what that madman is capable of.” As Smoke left Mead behind he contemplated killing him soon, and he knew just where to look to get some new fancy weapons. He laughed out loud as he disappeared into the jungle, he would make Mead regret letting him live.
