It's an entirely different thing when the offenders aren't supposed to be here in the first place, are arrested, and knowingly released back on the streets (even after committing crimes within "Class 1" such as "Assault with serious bodily injury") If an illegal commits a Class 1 under the changes they will still be marked for deportation. The articles says that some people think that this doesn't go far enough and think Class 1s should be changed to 364 days instead of a 1 year to prevent marking deportations. That's not actually what is happening. You would know this if you took the time to actually read the article instead of trying to picking out things to attack without context. --- ...
