He’s got a magic book with real-time applications. Grimoire Weiss, the flying talking book, is by far Nier’s best tool, and Weiss has some dirty shit. Take that up there, Dark Wall. It reflects ALL projectiles coming at Nier in, well, a wall. It’s his own personal Reflect he can pop on the terrain rather than a target, only it’s any and all things not attached to the person’s body. Considering how range-heavy Lilith is and how easy it is to anticipate a ranged strike in a terrain like this, Nier’s great for RIGHT BACK ATCHA-ing. Watch about a minute here. Here’s Nier just casually leaping way too damn high and bisecting this giant mofo. Then when that doesn’t work (this thing is a constant regen monster ala a hydra), he throws a buncha drills at it. And then those drills decide to be remote controlled by him so that he can BETTER pierce straight through.

Nier is, quite simply, by far the second best brute force here short of Diablo, and even then he’s probably better at knocking the opponent far and away. Add in the fact that he can easily magic bullet hell at the opponent while he’s getting this shit ready and a team that would HEAVILY rely on a projectile game (for which SPEARMAN ON MOTORCYCLE and Cut Man can easily take point to confirm ‘why yes they have projectiles’ and gauge the relative strength of).

Oh also there’s Diablo. Hi. He can teleport. Also Bone Prison to reduce mobility. And then just like grab people and drain their souls to heal him. Taking double damage? Cool, you kill him in three minutes instead of six minutes of concentrated fire. He still kills you in, like, four. Especially considering some mana and energy is wasted taking out X-Death’s decaying corpse and raising paranoia of just how fast my team can get to Team Cloud You know who’s also great at screwing with mobility? Air Man. Blows Mega Man around, who is a lot heavier than these other losers. People are falling down holes.

You know who’s also great at screwing with people? Dr. Wily. This specific Wily Machine has all the powers of the Powered Up bosses - so the six robot masters, plus Time Man and Oil Man. You know what that means? Chaos Control. Kind of. And oil slicks, everywhere. Hell a goddamn CANNON of oil. Guess who’s a demon made of fire who really likes an oil cannon? Big D-Blo. Guess who’s got freezing powers? Alberto Del Wily.

Essentially, Archer is useless, Sub-Zero is outclassed and could very well get screwed by someone as weak as Air Man, Cloud is screwed by Air Man and outclassed by Nier in a mid-range battle, and Lilith has to carry her entire team on her back. Against a demon that can reduce her mobility, a man who can actively reflect everything she can throw at her, and Wily’s time slow shenanigans when he’ll take FOREVER to whittle down.
