A member of the jury that acquitted the Minnesota officer said it was "very, very hard" but thinks the panel made the right decision.. The jury was split 10-2 in favour of an acquittal as they will not reveal who the 2 holdouts were. Diamond Reynolds, Philando's gf said "i am incredibly disappointed with the jury's verdict. My bf, Philando castile was pulled over because, per Officer Yanez, he had a wide nose and looked suspect. God help America" If convicted, Yanez would have faced only 10 years in prison, though sentencing guidelines suggest around 4 years is more likely. However, he will walk free.
