Just watched a YouTube video. Yarp.

Stupidly easy. You can do it! I love learning to do stuff like this because I hate feeling helpless and having to rely on so called professionals who will try to rip me off because they think I won't know any better.

Okay, and again, I don't want to buy two different kinds of tinyass screwdrivers just to open the thing up and then do something I have no confidence in. I'd rather give it to my local game store where half the people there I know.

One of the buttons on my old DS (the down directional pad button, iirc) stopped working for a while. I bought a tiny screwdriver on Amazon for like $4, opened it up myself, and cleaned the circuit that had gotten a bit of gunk on it. Fixed the problem for cheap and in under 5 minutes (plus shipping time). If it's a simple fix like that, it should be no problem, and DEFINITELY shouldn't take 2 weeks.

Yeah, 2 weeks is definitely worst case scenario. The thing is the place has two locations and the guy who fixes shit is at the other location all of next week, but the person I was talking to said he'd try to get my 3DS to him tomorrow as he'd likely be in the store visiting anyway. Then if he happens to need to order something, which i hope isn't the case, that's another week.
