Well, to try and work with this, I'll tell a related story. My first rpg was ff7. I don't know how old I was, maybe 9.

I found the combat super boring, so I fled all random encounters

It was all fine until I hit the wall.

The wall was after nibelhiem/Vincent's Manson. There was this big dumb guy in the mountains that cast trine and (the first time for an enemy in the game) cure 2. The monster could out heal my best damage output.

I think I only had one save file, inside the mountain in a location where I couldn't get back to a town. Basically, I was screwed

So I restarted the game and leveled properly.

Later on, I still didn't know I could hit select to make the triangle indicators hover over interactive objects such as ladders or doors. I could not for the life of me figure out how to get through the Escher painting room in the temple of the ancients

So I saved up my money for the official strategy guide, which just said "go out the other side of the room". This was the last time I bought a strategy guide.

So I convinced my parents to let me use the internet, and I searched for ff7 help. This is how I discovered gamefaqs.

This is the long way of saying in this actual situation I would either 1) restart the entire game if I thought I screwed myself or 2) discover the internet and figure out what I was doing wrong

There are games that I have simply put down because they were too difficult, grindy, or simply inscrutable. Final fantasy games are generally well designed enough not to fall into these pits

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.
