Topic | So The Crash N. Sane Trilogy is "bad" because of 'dated game design' |
MrMallard 06/29/17 2:58:17 PM #19: | DevsBro posted... Crash 1 was firmly "meh" but 2 was one of the best platformers ever and 3 was not far behind. Good to see someone else who puts 2 over 3. Damn fine game, that Crash 2. Honestly, there was a point where I wasn't hot on the Crash remakes. They looked really off, it's like Crash doesn't need this fluffy fur and these detailed eyebrows - the animation looks too smooth, everything just sort of put me off. But as the release date drew closer, I actually didn't mind what I saw of the game. That Crash 2 trailer with the wakeboard still puts me off, but I started to think "Maybe this will be rad after all". I hope it's decent, and that this review is an outlier. But if it's going to get trashed, I'm hoping it's because the level of shine that comes from a PS4 remake throws off how the game itself plays, not just "the games are super dated, and the collection is an ugly reminder that games that were once classics have stayed in the past for a reason". Crash 1 is probably a bit ass in places, because it's Crash 1. It's not perfect. But I'm hoping 2 and maybe 3 are worthwhile remakes. --- And outside it's ninety-two degrees, and KROQ is playing Siouxsie and the Banshees. Currently playing: Atelier Totori, Diablo 3, SMT 3 ...
