Like Whiskey said, some of the tweets were dead giveaways. I mean come on, a tweet about thirteen colonies? They're probably not talking about Civ 5.

What Snuggletoof is saying is that for twitter users who weren't paying attention to all of the tweets in order, seeing one specific tweet mentioning tyrants would lead people to react in the moment assuming that NPR was making some kind of statement.

Correct. I guess I'm just in the mindset that on Twitter, at least, people would think before reacting.
