To be fair, given the context and subject material, this particular "bait" is far more likely to catch out ignorant Republicans than ignorant Democrats. If the subject matter was different (I can't think of any good examples off the top of my head) you could similarly catch a larger number of Democrats than Republicans.

And I get that.

However, it's ridiculous to assume that only Republicans could not make this connection that the tweets were about the Declaration of Independence and not Trump.

Idiocracy is not localized to only Republicans and to think that it is, is moronic.
