Well when republicans also want to teach kids abstinence only education and avoid talking about how sex works and how to do so safely. Yes. What about Mom and Dad? What about them? Many parents would either: a) Not teach their children accurate and valuable information b) Teach their children abstinence based on their religious beliefs Then we are back to square 1. Also some parents might just avoid talking about the subject all together, because it's not a fun conversation to be having with your child.
