Great, you've recognized you don't have super high standards for movies... this might help you understand why so many people disliked the movie.

Imagine you went on a date with a girl who was missing half her teeth, was wrinkled to hell and back, and was missing an arm and a leg... and you thought she was the hottest girl ever. You're entitled to that opinion, but you'd also have to recognize that very few people would share your opinion regarding her physical attractiveness.

I've always known I don't have high standards for movies as my whole life I have watched movies that were "hated" and thought "this isn't THAT BAD." This topic was more about just wondering why it was so hated as it is rare for me to follow entertainment news because I don't like my first viewing to be compromised by other opinions.

Just to clarify on this, I don't think it's so much that I don't have high standards as much as it is that I don't allow certain things to ruin a movie for me as much as the average person.

Like I when I watch a B-horror movie, I am obviously not watching it for the cinematography or the writing but more for the fact that I know it's going to be lacking in those areas and I don't allow it to ruin the movie for me. Just like when I watch cheesy action flicks it certainly isn't for the acting, I watch movies for what they are and try to enjoy them as if they were in a vacuum.
