i don't think you know what outed means

It means they're trying to hide being gay/lesbian, but somebody announces it before they're ready to "come out."

I'm saying my daughter should have no reason to ever try hiding it.

"I told her I wouldn't mind therefore there is no reason she wouldn't tell me!"

You'd be in for one hell of a rude awakening if you ever had a kid.

It is possible for it to go that way. I was raised by my grandparents and never really had to "come out" because it wasn't a big deal to them. They are non-religious and open-minded people.

And that's grand but it's anecdotal.

Regardless of what people might say, some people fear how they would actually react to truth.

A lot of others fear how everyone else would react, even if some loved ones are openly cool. In this case it could be schoolmates or Franciszka's family.

And most importantly, a lot of people just like keeping secrets and hiding themselves from others.

The logic of "If I tell my kid I don't care, they'll be fully honest with me about everything." is going to lead to some big disappointments wen odds are they are lying and hiding things to you constantly.

^ Hey now that's completely unfair.
