That's nonsense.

Have you tried breathing in water? Just a little bit is enough to make your nose "burn" and you to cough violently.

Now multiply that feeling by a large number.

Don't tell me you'll just hold your breath until you pass out. Your body will reflexively make you breath regardless of the water when it's desperate enough, meaning the agony of breathing in water is a certainty.

Meanwhile, you're still deprived of the relief of breathing in proper air. Just your first breath of water is enough to make you gasp and swallow more disgusting, salty, sandy water.

All of that, keeps going and going until you pass out and pass away.
