| eating4fun 07/25/17 12:58:29 PM #364: | Clannad, Steins;Gate, Fate/stay night, and Higurashi are all acclaimed anime adaptations of VN. You should experience at least one of them before watching the anime version to grasp firsthand the strengths of the VN medium. There's also a trend of VN that have unsuccessful adaptations due to the difficulty of adapting VN and/or the ineptitude of their producers. This probably plays a part in why other successful VN don't get an anime adaptation. If there's one more recommendation, it's Saya no Uta, with writer Gen Urobuchi (famed for Madoka, Psycho-pass, and fate/zero). It's a very short VN.
