Kanto lost a lot of its content and mostly existed in the form of the long stretches of straight routes. For instance, Viridian Forest was just replaced by a couple of shrubs and Mt. Moon was only one floor. Overall in terms of playable area G/S had about as much as Gen 1 did, it just felt more grand because of the "wow factor" of going to Kanto. They made the game feel longer by having you spend substantially more time in caves and the like, hence why the whole Zubat meme became a real thing. --- "A shouted order to do something of dubious morality with an unpredictable outcome?
