Chinese people aren't going to reconsider their bigotry because a Hollywood movie wasn't released in their country. It's shitty, but there's nothing to discuss. Yes, a massive studio refusing to do a homophobic edit to a movie of one of the most popular franchises of all time for a country would have no impact, of course. Nothing at all.
