Michael was already supposed to be Erins dad and Phyllis was Erins mom, they should have focused on pam being Erins sister instead of doing everything they could to make pam seem annoying They didn't totally thrash it, but I do feel like they kinda dropped the ball a bit with Pam/Jim towards the end, and had a few questionable things as well. I kinda liked the whole closer relationship with Dwight. Erin had more potential I think that they didn't really use and yeah, a Pam/Erin friendship would have been really nice.
