I'm the girl to ask about Connecticut! Depends on how important the coastline and the (mostly shitty) beaches are to you there are *some* decent beaches though.
The Greater Stamford or New Haven areas are probably your best bet, though I know my friend found good resources in the Middletown area as well. After those, the Hartford area is your next best bet (the weather sucks ass inland. CT weather sucks in general though).
Then you're down to the dregs, but the state is so small you're usually never far from good things.
