That would be because you cheated on your wife. You told us all that you did it, in no uncertain terms (at least, once you dropped the pretense of "it's not me it's my friend"). Heck, at one point you were asking Schmen for advice on how to avoid getting caught because you found out he was working as a PI (to which the obvious answer was, of course, "just don't cheat on your wife"), because you knew full well that you were cheating. All of this "contract wife" business has been entirely a post facto justification that you rolled out after we spent a couple months dunking on you for it and you realized you weren't going to get anyone to agree with you with your original approach, and it still doesn't justify anything because extramarital sexual relations without your spouse's consent are always going to be cheating, regardless of the nature of the marriage.

I don't doubt that you're better off out of that marriage. Nobody (for the most part) is suggesting that you should have stuck it out if you were unhappy. But sleeping around instead of ending it properly is just cowardly, and you should expect people to give you a hard time for that.

Except it really was a contract marriage from the beginning. I did get a guilty conscience because she'd tell me how much she loved me and all sorts of shit, but it really did start out as a contract marriage. I wanted to get out if the barracks, and she wanted to move out from living with her brother. Not my fault she fell in love with me.

I did act like that in the beginning because I did genuinely feel bad at the time, but over time I realized that I made it clear from the beginning that this was a contract marriage and I avoided telling her that I loved her because I never did love her. Once I realized that there's really no reason for me to feel guilty, I got over it. I guess you guys got a mixed message from me because of how I was acting at the beginning, but I never lied about the marriage being a contractual one.
