I agree that the collective white shrugs part is off base to an extent. There are white people who care. But collectively you dont get the response of what will the black community say about this when its a white person. Hes more so addressing those who handwave it or are quick to call out every other race while shrugging this off. That point doesnt come off as clearly as it could in that statement.
