But it really misses the larger issue. Uvalde is a relatively small town. These small local police departments are never going to be prepared for something like this. They shouldn't have to be. This is going to result in calls for more police funding and ultimately do nothing. Also media acting like this small city is going to have big city disaster response. All these things didn't happen because especially as towns get smaller everyone is convinced these things cant happen to them. The small town already spent 40% of their budget on their police, including a swat team.
