iPhones cost a lot more than Android for phones with comparative specs, have much shorter planned obsolescence life for the hardware, and will hard cut off operating system updates for older models that results in almost every major app being unusable, by which I mean that at some point Apple says "your phone/pad is too old, so you aren't allowed to use it anymore".

My dad busted an old iPad out of storage a month ago and it wouldn't even allow him to install Amazon Shopping, said that there was no version of the app that existed that was old enough to work on it anymore. Not a single other app we tried to install worked either, the thing was essentially a paper weight. Just simply not something that happens on android.
I'm pretty sure there was someone in the b8 anime topic still using the iPhone 7 until last year when the battery died and he had no way to replace it. Busting out an old iPad is about as vague as it is. I have a 4th gen iPad mini released in 2015 that still works perfectly. Did you bust out an iPad from when Jobs was still alive and expect it to be supported?
