Topic	Is there a way to fix low memory YouTube lagging?

Windows 8? What's your GPU? The thing is, Windows 8 era comp most likely lack a native support for the new AV1 or even the old VP9 codec. Unfortunately Youtube might decide to use those for high resolution video (say, higher than 1080p) and ditch the ancient, potato-compatible AVC codec alltogether. Without native support, decoding will tax your CPU and RAM. To check the codec used by particular video, click gear icon then "Stats for nerds". You can try to force Youtube to give you the old AVC video and see if it resolves your issue. Just set the video resolution to 1080p or lower.
