I walk with confidence, but I have a dog and will cross the street if others are coming because it's the right thing to do. Im the person who is walking around with something others might fear. It makes sense for me to then take the responsibility of making others feel safe from me and my dog when I can. Even though my dog is a coward and a lover, they don't know that. I get respect back in the street all the time.
