I think it could've been a whale, but I really only saw a big dark spot in the water. It bobbed above the surface for just a second and had a bunch seagulls congregating on it. I wasn't going to mention it unless more than a shadow and birds were apparent, but when I looked away dad shouted that he saw a whale and was pointing at it.
