First time seeing the ocean. I saw a pod of Dolphins. The water feels so nice. I wasn't expecting it to wash the sand out from under my feet though.

It was a long trip. Took us 6 hours to get here. We stopped by the zoo and that was amazing. Then we came to the hotel and almost made it without getting lost but we went 1 road too far.

I'll be posting pictures soon. Just got back to the hotel room and my back is aching so bad.

I haven't had that feeling since I was 5 or 6. Living at the beach kinda takes the charm away, but every once in a while when I go walk down to the swash barrier in my old area it takes my breath away when you breach the horizon from the deck stairs that open up into the ocean clouds and sand. Especially if the clouds are golden and fill the sky.

It never gets old. It always stays gold.

Is that the Virginia Beach fishing pier? Just wondering since I spent a lot of time at the boardwalk in high school.

Nice man, hope you have fun. If youre looking for a smaller beach that mostly only the locals use then look up Croatan Beach. Its just a few minutes south of where the Oceanfront starts and its tucked away in one of the neighborhoods. Thats where wed go in high school since none of the tourists knew about it (at the time).

i also always enjoyed the aquarium. Cant remember if its pricey or not, I dont think was when I was there last, but that was about 10 years ago I think.

Nice! I'll definitely consider that one next time. Mom wanted one like that but we settled for this one.

Wish I could've gotten pictures or video of the dolphins. But I left my phone in the room because I was getting the water. Then we watched them for an hour or so. Then it was too far from the room to see them in pics. :/

Morning.

Another fun day. It was a trip to the aquarium, then lots of arguing, then a trip back to the beach where dad and I actually had a great time in the water. Heading home now.

Got home just a bit ago. I NEVER want to be in a vehicle with my dad for that long ever again.

Then when we got home, after a weekend on the beach where he didn't spend a dime, as soon as we enter the house he starts cussing us and threatening us again. Yelling and screaming and insulting me. It almost came to blows. If it had I would've laid his sorry ass out this time. It won't be repeat from when I was too young and naive to think I could fight back. I'm so done with this man. He just had to find a way to ruin what was the best part of my life.

You should visit Ocean 2.0 next time, it's more exciting.

I've always lived 20 minutes away from several beaches so I take them for granted but I'm happy to see your excitement at finally visiting one!

It's fine. It's just part of life. I'm not going to let him overshadow the fun I had. It was seriously a wonderful trip aside from him. I enjoyed it so much. I've got tons more pictures to share, just not particularly in the mood at the moment.

That one is gorgeous. Do they really get markings like that?

Seems so. The ones I've seen have just been dark green and brownish. Looks like the ine above is a Hawksbill.

Wow, never figured they could be so pretty.

Edit: Also, I'm not 100% what I saw when we were leaving. I think it could've been a whale, but I really only saw a big dark spot in the water. It bobbed above the surface for just a second and had a bunch seagulls congregating on it. I wasn't going to mention it unless more than a shadow and birds were apparent, but when I looked away dad shouted that he saw a whale and was pointing at it. But we were on the road and my view got blocked seconds later. I did see more dolphins just before that though.

I wouldn't let him. I know it's hard but think more about all the fun you have had. These pics in this topic are really good and it's good you had a great time (for the most part). I love visiting a seaside town called Whitby here in England. It's very therapeutic for mental health as it has a beach but also a nice trail that is farmland and countryside. The trail leads to Robin Hoods Bay and that too is a nice seaside town.

i wish ginormous turtles were still a thing.

we probably would've killed them off if they survived up to us anyway, though.

I'm trying, man. But, he's going to be part of my life until one of us dies. It was fantastic fun, but I'm back home now. He's here. All of our lives revolve around him.

Things had been good between us for a while. But I guess a day and a half of seeing me happy was too much for him. He had to lash out.

I really did. Plus, mom seems to be planning on making this a yearly trip. It was surprisingly affordable. So, I'm hyped that we can go again.

Also, it's looking like things might escalate with dad.

Edit: False alarm. Something happened and I thought it was something he did, but it wasn't him but a neighbor. Thinks have been ok so far, he's going on like usual business but I'm still livid.
