That's the scariest thing about Liz Truss.

With previous shite PMs, their actions came from being self-serving, greedy or downright malicious, which - while still objectively awful - made them at least predictable. You could see their various shitshows coming and at least prepare for it.

But with Liz, she is just genuinely, genuinely stupid. It's not like Boris with his bumbling public persona that he used as a shield to hide his calculating actions. She's just legitimately super dumb, and it makes her pretty much impossible to predict, and very hard to reason with. With Boris there was always the chance that he'd backtrack on his most destructive policies because he was smart enough to know that losing the court of public opinion could be damaging in the long term. Liz genuinely doesn't even seem to understand why her budget is damaging to the country.

It's like today's news about her advising King Charles not to go the the climate summit in Egypt. Is she doing this because rich Tory donors probably have a vested interest in preventing greener policies? Is she doing it because she understands that as a monarch decorum dictates that Charles needs to be less engaged in activism than he was able to be as the heir? Or is she doing it because she saw a documentary with Brendan Fraser about Egypt and she's scared that the King might be eaten by mummies? Nobody knows, because she's just that stupid.
