| Topic | I've played Pokemon my whole life and have never come across a legitimate shiny |

Sounds like you don't try hunting for shinies. With breeding, did you have the shiny charm? I've only played up to Pokemon X. Granted I've put in thousands of hours in the older games, but I'm beginning to play through them all again and finally get to the Switch Era. The only method I used was the breeding ones, in which I was actually hunting for them.
