Maybe Im misremembering but in REmake you get the first key much earlier If you're playing as Jill, the Sword Key does not exist and all Sword Key doors open with the lockpick. The Armor Key in REmake is obtained by getting the Dog Whistle from the study on 2F of the east wing, using it in the terrace on 2F of the west wing, killing the dog, taking its collar, and swapping out the fake Armor Key with the real one.
