Ive been in sold out theaters before, where ushers would require people to move closer together to open up any seats that were open in the middle of the rows.

To the people who dont get it, an O is an occupied seat and an X is an open seat. So they want a theater that would otherwise look like this:

O O X O O O O X O O X O X O
O O O X X O O O X O X O X O
O O X O O X O O O X O X O O

To instead look like this:

X X O O O O O O O O O O X X
X X X O O O O O O O O O X X
X X O O O O O O O O O O X X

This way, it opens up more seats for people who are in pairs.
