It was a highly successful attempt, you just don't understand how seriously these companies enforce their budget. Edit: Also, as dumb as the idea you postulated is, if Kojima did that he would have been able to do it in a way that would have had fans talking. Instead he gave us a sterile, uninteresting story that no one even cared about. He didn't want to work for Konami anymore and after MGS5, he didn't. --- I've got the Oscar fever!
