g0ldie 12/17/22 7:28:42 PM #9:	yes and no. the gameplay is great, but it re-uses the areas so much, it can't help but feel repetitive. the story has some interesting elements, but it's unfinished and, and sometimes the missions aren't that engaging. the Skulls, as an enemy unit, also end up feeling more annoying than fun and/or interesting, IMO. Fully two thirds of the "main missions" feel like the side missions from Ground Zeroes (which is by far a better game, dollar for dollar and hour for hour). Needed way more cutscenes, more consistent characterization for established characters, and more locations. The engine of the game is phenomenal and it plays like a dream, but the content just isn't as good as it should have been. --- I write Naruto Fanfiction. The story in it is just not very good plus is told very poorly. All of the recurring characters are bastardizations of themselves. It has no business being affiliated to the story telling of the first 3 games. The second game literally makes Orwell look like an amateur crybaby. My brother and I had a yearly tradition that ran for at least 15 years where we'd schedule a time to get together and run through MGS, MGS2, MGS3, and MGS4--adding each one to the list as new entries came out. He would play it, and I would watch it. So for me, MGS is alllll about the story and characters. I've played through all of them at some point or another, but my experience with the series is like 80% as an audience member, not the one playing, which also colored my opinion of MGSV significantly. --- I write Naruto Fanfiction.
