Honestly, I'm a sap, so giving every conceivable character a happy ending is kind of exactly what I wanted from it. I still hold MGS4 up as the best in the series, and the best game of a completely stacked PS3/Xbox 360 generation. The nostalgia tripping, the fanservice, and the oh-so-satisfying conclusion elevated it beyond any other story-based game I've ever played. No other video game has ever fulfilled me so completely on so many levels.

And it was fun, to boot.

Yeah, it doesn't bother me or make me angry or anything, I just always thought a lot of his choices in the end were strange and borderline absurd. The thing I respect about MGS4 is that it was 100% made for his fan base. There are things that happen in it that only land as well as they do because they're "Your wish has been granted" tier gaming moments, but they aren't nearly as impactful if you didn't grow up playing all of his games and there's something very special about that.

MGS5 on the other hand is just nothing, story wise. It has very little value to the overall lore.

I still can't put 4 above the first 3 as fun as it is though.
