I find it unbelievably difficult to think fat people are being mistreated to a degree that a new term is made for it.
Things that have been around for hundreds of years do not get to be called "new" unless it's in a historical context, of which this topic is not.

And honestly, I may get modded for this. But who cares. Im heated tbh. Mod coulda just pmd me instead of being passive aggressive.

This feels like a white woman thing. The group that needs to be a victim for everything. Does anyone claim fatphobia in regards to men?

I know damn well this aint a thing in minority communities.

Who coined this term?
As with many things in America it traces its origins to the slave trades. One of the early "stereotypes" (it really didn't have much basis in reality, hence the quotes) was that black people ate far too much and thus had a predisposition towards being fat. This was especially true for women as African and European cultures had a different take on what constituted as sexy and in African culture having a full figure was considered hot. The term as we really recognize it comes from academia when talking about the excess lengths people would go to in harassing people of color, in particular African American women, for their race.
