Just always. I've never been insulted over my looks or anything, but I've always been pretty ashamed of myself in general. Was mistreated by my dad, brother, and basically all my classmates. So I never developed any type of positive self esteem.

Then as an older teenager, I started getting compliments on how I look, and once was mistaken for a TV star. So, I had hoped that maybe it was all in my head. But the reactions I've gotten over the years has proven otherwise. There just seems to be something inherently wrong with me that makes people ignore me. Then when I step up and make myself known I just get shot down again.

So, I certainly feel ugly. But I suppose it's more of a longing to be wanted more than ugliness itself. Idk.
