Topic	So apparently my apartment changed payment systems and now there's a 4% fee

They are in their early 20s and didn't possess checks. They complained a little bit about those methods and asked if they can use a payment app like Venmo. I said sure, but any fees need to be paid by them. I'm not taking a hit in my payment because they don't want to get checks or stop at the bank. If it's the ONLY payments that your LL will take though that's kinda sucky.
