to pay with a card. Only free method is to connect directly to a bank account.

Already have to contact them to get a late fee removed because the new system won't work but this is ridiculous.

It's ridiculous and they'll be dropping it, rent is already overpriced enough

Whenever there's a "convenience fee" for making it more convenient for you to take my money, you're getting a goddamn check in the mail.

I am ambivalent about it. I'm a landlord, but only for a single unit. I offered them to pay by check, cash, or money order at first. They are in their early 20s and didn't possess checks. They complained a little bit about those methods and asked if they can use a payment app like Venmo. I said sure, but any fees need to be paid by them. I'm not taking a hit in my payment because they don't want to get checks or stop at the bank.

If it's the ONLY payments that your LL will take though that's kinda sucky.

Problem is I can't do that because my parents are paying for it right now :/

Essentially the only free payment I can do is hooking it directly to a bank account

My parents can but then they'd have to get it to me, we don't live particularly close

I'm not really a fan of that myself but that's due to me just being paranoid. It's only a small mistake from your rent being auto deducted due to some dumb computer glitch. Your options do kind of suck.
