Bad news: She did indeed miscarry. They will be waiting 1-2 weeks for her to naturally take care of the miscarriage. Otherwise, there are pill/surgical options if that does not happen without intervention.

She's in as good spirits as one could expect. They plan on continuing to try to have their second child. My mom was having a particularly hard time dealing with the worry about it. She's doing ok now as well.

They told her it was about 25% of pregnancies that result in miscarriage. Based on everything, this was not entirely unexpected, but sad/difficult nonetheless.
