Midnight Suns barely had any marketing. A lot of people dont even know it exists. Plus, the card based battle system is going to push a lot of people away from it. I was hesitant to buy the game because of that and I ultimately didnt. However, my older brother gifted the game for me so I was able to play through it and was pleasantly surprised. The battle system is actually pretty fun coming from someone who does not care for card based battle systems at all.

Everything else about the game is lacking, though. The writing and dialogue is cringe worthy and not great. Nicos entire character can be summed up as I hate the Avengers and muh Wanda. Blade spends 80% of the game wanting to bury his face in Captain Marvels ass. The ending is complete dogshit, too. It makes zero sense when you think about it and it feels super rushed as if the devs ran out of time.

You spend quite a bit of time messing around in the Hub when you really just want to get back to the battles. The game allows you to hang out with these heroes and build friendships but theres no romance when its obvious the devs wanted to include it. Graphically, its a buggy game. Caretakers eyelid flickering was really annoying especially after 60+ hours of playing the game.
