That's not how it works, the man still has to pay support unless he signs off all parental rights.

I didn't know this was a thing. Are guys reluctantly paying child support because they don't know this is an option, or does pride or something drive them to want some involvement sooner or later?

I have to asume the former, because he did offer to pay for the abortion.

I mean, it's not a win for the child who is now most likely losing the financial support that can be helpful during those early stages of life.

Regardless of if it's 2 loving partners, or one lone parent, no one should be having children if there's reason to believe they won't be financially sufficient in raising them.
