Any engagement happening there is happening with sonic at a serious disadvantage since hes having to deal with effects like festive fog that slow him and just a general barrage of firepower. He also has the call of aphrodite and sonic is all through his history shown to be pretty susceptible to charm.

BJ can be fairly effective because Laserkradtwerk doesnt use a traditional projectile and if it hits anywhere near him left off a big explosion of light that disorients and can bounce off things and still hit sonic in unexpected ways
