I mean shoot, I was engaged to a girl who was apparently infertile, and we said we'd rather adopt than try anything else. Just made sense.

It's actually really difficult for gay couples to adopt a child. Most agencies are religious and definitely do discriminate. In this case both fathers would have a claim over the child there wouldn't be any mistakes about whos parent was who's to the kid.
