Zigzagoon posted... I dunno, I feel like I keep seeing that going around and just feel like it's an excuse not to even try.
Take Puss in Boots 2 for example. It's a sequel for a side character from a franchise that died off 10 years ago. It's cute and funny, visually gorgeous... but also had a ton of heart and real messages that people can relate to, as well as character growth.
And then seeing people just say... well that's not what Mario is. Mario should just be stomping... GOOMBAS and Bowser being Bowser.
Why can't we have both?
I'm just trying to understand the argument. Are people saying that there's absolutely no way possible for a Mario Movie to get 95%+ by both critics and audience? I just think that's a lazy way of thinking I guess.
Agree with all of this
Paratroopa1 posted... Unpopular opinion, apparently: I think critic reviews of animated movies, as an aggregate, tend to be pretty spot on, and I think they're going to be spot on for the Mario Movie
I would MUCH SOONER trust the critic reviews of the Mario Movie over the audience reviews, though I would sooner trust a friend's review of the reviews of a community I'm associated with like B8
Friends and community > the critic reviews on RT > the audience reviews on RT
Agree with all of this too!
